Music Students visit Seattle

In April, our Senior School Choir and Band had a fantastic trip to Seattle attending the WorldStrides Heritage Music Festival. Both ensembles put on spectacular performances, garnering positive feedback from the adjudication team.

YHS Students received three significant awards at the festival, including first place in the Gold category for Concert Choir, first place in the Silver Category for Concert Band, and the coveted Spirit Award, which recognizes a school whose entire music ensembles reflect community, positive collaboration, and spirit.

Besides the wonderful musical performances, the students had a chance to connect with the music and cultural scenes in Seattle including visits to the Space Needle, Museum of Flight, Museum of Pop and Culture and the International District. 

A huge congratulations to Ms. Ninan and Ms. Mirtic for their incredible work with our student musicians and for promoting a passion for music and community spirit. Thank you also to Ms. Kassisieh, Ms. Yeh and Ms. Louis who accompanied our Yorkies on this trip.
