Update: Thurs. Sept 19, 2024

Dear Junior & Little School Parents and Guardians,

It was a pleasure to see so many of you at our Junior School Curriculum Evening yesterday, and we look forward to welcoming our JK and SK families to the Little School Curriculum Evening tonight. The teachers will share their presentations with you in upcoming class newsletters, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

We are excited to host Coffee Talks again this year as a way to engage families in dialogue about important issues that affect our students. Coffee Talks will be geared to families with children of different ages from Kindergarten to Grade 7. Topics will include a range of themes, such as navigating friendship dynamics, assessment practices, mathematics instruction, and the safe use of technology. We have confirmed Coffee Talks dates for this fall and have listed them below. We look forward to seeing you there!

FOUNDERS' DAY ASSEMBLY:
This year’s annual Founders' Day Assembly will take place on Thursday, September 26 in the afternoon. Grade 2-7 students attend this special event. Grade 2 students are dismissed early and will be outside at 3:00 pm for regular dismissal as usual. Grade 3-7 students stay for the entire Founders' Day Assembly which typically runs right until 3:00 pm. We will do our best to have the students outside at dismissal time on time, and we appreciate your understanding if they are a few minutes late.

TRAFFIC ROUTINES:
For the safety and smooth traffic flow, we ask that all families using the King Edward lay-bys pull as far forward as possible when dropping off or picking up their child. If the lay-by is full, please drive around the block rather than block traffic. Remember that idling is prohibited, and be mindful not to park in front of our neighbours' driveways.

Additionally, please avoid parking or stopping on Nanton Street, west of Alexandra Street, as this area is designated for drop-offs at Little Flower Academy. Please be respectful of the parent volunteers who are helping direct traffic. They are following the protocols set by the school. See this Traffic Do’s and Don'ts video for some helpful tips! Please see our Traffic Guidelines here.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping traffic safe for everyone!
